When we were kids, more than anything, receiving gifts for particular occasions like birthdays would make us happy. Now that we are older, we see the same thrill in our children when we give them a gift. Gifts are even better when they are received unexpectedly. These little gifts are more like a postcard from a faraway place. And surprise gifts are also welcomed by adults. You could stock up on things like cosmetics, brooches, tiny exquisite purse mirrors, lip balms, lovely stationery, stickers, stamps for the philatelist, vintage figurines or the like.

However, one word of caution, send the right surprise gift to the right person! Making note of your friend’s specific interests can turn a thoughtful gift into a deeply personal and meaningful gift.
